This week Herbie Fine died.

FINE, HERBERT, 69, of Edaville Court, Warwick a self employed CPA, died Sunday at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of Janice (Prisco) Fine.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Simon and Nettie (Milman) Fine, he had lived in Warwick for 28 years. Mr. Fine was a graduate of Classical High School, URI and Bryant where he received his Masters in Taxation. He was the owner of Herbert Fine CPA in Warwick where he worked alongside his wife for 25 years. He also taught at Bryant College, Johnson and Wales and Roger Williams University, where he was also Dean of Administration. He also served as an officer in the US Army. Mr. Fine was a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Besides his wife of 30 years, he leaves a daughter; Deborah Freedman of Albany, NH and a brother; Stanley Fine of Coconut Creek, FL.

Funeral services was held at Sugarman-Sinai Memorial Chapel, 458 Hope Street, Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

And Coach Al Morro died at 85.

MORRO, ALFRED V., 85, formerly of Samoset Ave. passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at the Elmhurst Extended Care Facility.

Born in New York a son of the late Carmelo and Anna (Morgera) Morro.

Mr. Morro was a Teacher and the Athletic Director and Coach at Classical High School in Providence for many years before retiring. He was a Graduate of Boston College. Mr. Morro has had numerous Scholarships established in his name at Classical High School. The School also has named the Classical Athletic Complex after him. Mr. Morro was inducted into the High School Athletic Hall of Fame this past May 2005.

He was the beloved brother of Mary Potter and Clara Solitro both of Warwick, Connie Varallo of Cranston and the late Joseph, Albert and William Morro. Loving uncle of 14 nieces and nephews.

Burial was in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Contributions to the Holy Apostles Memorial Fund will be greatly appreciated.

You grew up with everyone you see at Stop and Shop.

You know where South County is, even though it doesn't exist.

You and everyone you know are either Italian or Irish, or both.

You've never been farther south than Jersey, and not farther West than there, either, but are planning to move to Florida as soon as you turn 60.

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from Rhode Island.
